Promotes a high standard of long-term planning, maintenance, and perpetuation of Kirkwood’s publicly owned trees. Encourages responsible management and maintenance of privately owned trees. Advises City Council on suggested amendments to current City ordinances and practices that affect the planting, maintenance, and removal of trees on public and private property. A complete membership roster is available.

Street Tree Planting Request Form:

Having trees on the street and in right-of-way areas is a great way to provide cooling shade for on-street parking, which reduces the heat island effect and auto emissions and can help with stormwater runoff. Learn more in the "Benefits of Street Trees" article from the Arbor Day Foundation. The City and the Urban Forestry Commission would like your input on where to plant new street trees.
