  • Architectural Review Board meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month (except holidays -- scheduled on adjoining Tuesday) at 7 pm.

What is the Architectural Review Board?

The Architectural Review Board (ARB) reviews applications and makes recommendations to the Building Commissioner, Planning & Zoning Commission, and City Council, depending on the nature of the case and how it is referred. It ensures proposed developments and signs are in harmony with the design character of the existing neighborhood, cohesive with the streetscape, and consistent with the neighborhood scale.  

Meetings & Contact

The Architectural Review Board meets on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month (except holidays -- scheduled on adjoining Tuesday) at 7 pm in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 139 S. Kirkwood Rd. 

Single-Family Residential Design Review

The Architectural Review Board reviews building plans for all new single-family residences, additions and accessory structures. The ARB offers design suggestions to help residents and builders comply with City design guidelines. The required applications and guidelines are provided directly below. The application may be printed at the links below, completed ahead of time and brought to the Building Department in City Hall to make the process easier.

ARB Sign Review and Commercial Building Design Process

The ARB reviews and approves all sign applications in the City. The ARB also reviews building applications for new construction, additions and renovations of building exteriors for non-residential and multi-family residential for compliance with development criteria. The application may be printed at the link below, completed ahead of time and brought to the Building Department in City Hall to make the process easier.
