The Local Housing Authority provides and maintains facilities for low-income housing for the elderly as well as additions and improvements to the building. The Authority devises and follows an annual budget and performs an annual audit. It funds a self-supporting housing program, including all building and personnel expenses. 

The Authority has five Commissioners, each serving 4-year terms. The Authority's Executive Director serves as Secretary to the Authority. It meets monthly on the 2nd Monday of the month at 5:00 p.m., at Kirkwood House.
