Since last March, the St. Louis Area Foodbank has distributed close 50 million meals, a 39% increase compared to pre-pandemic efforts, with 75% of individuals reporting they were seeking additional assistance as a result of COVID-19. Although restrictions are easing up around the metro area, and people are looking to get back to a more normal way of life, the effects of COVID-19 are still being felt, and those in our communities who are most vulnerable, are still in need of our help.
 
In partnership with the St. Louis Area Foodbank, Mayors for Meals 2021 will take place on Saturday, May 8th from 9am-12pm at the Historic Kirkwood Train Station. A National Guard truck will be at the Train Station to collect donations. Suggested donation items are listed on the flyer below.
 
Last year the St. Louis Area Food bank collected over 53,000 lbs of donated items from 26 participating municipalities, including Kirkwood. Let's do our best to beat that record this year!
