The Kirkwood Arts Commission was established in 2014 by the Kirkwood City Council, to promote the arts in the City and around the region.
Kirkwood Arts Commission Statement: The Kirkwood Arts Commission is a Commission of the City of Kirkwood that promotes and sponsors the arts and participation in the arts for the benefit of the Kirkwood community. [Adopted July 2014]

Commission Meetings
The Arts Commission meets on the third Tuesday of every month, 5:00 p.m., at the Kirkwood Community Center, 111 S. Geyer Road.
Commission Programs
Making Music Concert Series
The Making Music Concert Series, now in its 22nd season, features Saturday evening concerts held at Lions Amphitheater in Kirkwood Park. All concerts are held at 7:30 p.m. on the dates listed below, and typically last about two hours. The concert series is hosted by the Kirkwood Arts Commission with generous financial support from Kirkwood Electric, and additional support from Kirkwood Parks & Recreation and the Kirkwood Arts Foundation. All concerts are FREE and open to the public. Guests are welcome to bring food and drinks to the venue.

The Gallery Program
The Kirkwood Arts Commission’s Gallery Program at Kirkwood Performing Arts Center will present four seasonal exhibitions in 2024. Each exhibition comprises works from three artists and the Commission will host an opening reception for each exhibition to celebrate the artists and their work.
